Baby Joe… pronounced ‘Doe’ by his sweet older brother… was absolutely adorable. He slept so well for me that I almost ran out of ideas for poses. Joe is the youngest of 3 boys, and the middle boy what just a hoot! He was sitting quietly, watching my every move. I put him in charge of guarding my hat collection, and he was very diligent about it. When mum tried to convince him to go upstairs with her he shouted “MOM! I’m HELPING the LADY!!!!” It was so funny! I can’t remember the last time I was referred to as ‘the lady’. At the end of the session he also asked “are you coming back lady?”… really, I could listen to him call me lady all day, the tone of his voice was so adorable.
I love setting up my newborn photo studio in a client’s home. On location newborn portraits are great for families that have multiple children. Mum got to spend some alone time upstairs with baby #2 who was ready for a little extra attention, and I got to spend time with baby #3 capturing memories of that first special time in his life with newborn photos. Baby Joe also went to Guelph Wee Piggies and Paws and got a beautiful shadow box made. Lifecasts of his hands and feet, along with a photo from our session are now beautifully showcased in their home. What a great way to cherish the memory of how small he was and how quickly kids grow.
