Eleanor is my neighbour, so I got the luxury of hosting her portrait session in my own home. She was a month old, and really preferred not to be posed. Babies really don’t mind being posed as newborns, most actually kinda like it. The more curled up in a ball they are, the more at home they feel. This was not the case for Miss Eleanor. I had to pull out all my best strategies to get her to sleep. She eventually decided to bend to my will, and slept nicely for a small portion of the session. I can’t imagine what kind of pictures I would have captured of her if it was a 1 hour or 2 hour session. I’m so thankful for the opportunity to take the time to get babies into their sleepy place before I start shooting.
